About Lisa Oakley
Lisa Oakley began blowing glass in 1994. She immediately knew
that glass was the creative outlet for which she had been searching.
Since 1996 she has maintained her glass studio in Creedmoor, NC
adjacent to Cedar Creek Gallery, a contemporary craft gallery
that her family has owned and operated since she was a small child.
Lisa's work includes vases, bowls, platters
and ornaments as well as necklaces, bracelets and earrings made
from furnace-pulled glass beads.
She graduated with honors from the University
of North Carolina with a B.A. in Psychology. She has studied glassblowing
extensively at Penland School of Crafts with instructors including
Robert Levin, Norwegian glassblower Willy Aanderson, Robert Gardner,
Ken Carder, Joe Nielander, Charles Correll, Gary Beecham, and Dudley
Giberson among others. She also studied glass in Japan.
Lisa is an exhibiting member of Carolina Designer
Craftsmen.
